Today I had my first go at NCS Expert/Dummy. Had some succes and some not.

I don't know really. With the manual in my hand I followed everything step by step. The first thing I noticed when I did one of the first steps, where you read the VIN/ZCS from the car, I get 3 ECU options: CKMB EWS KMB No idea what the CKMB is. The EWS and other is Kombi.

I know these hold the ZCS in them. Not sure about the first. But what I noticed, is that only the EWS showed the correct VIN in NCS Expert.

When trying the other two, the last 7 characters are all correct, but the WBABK71. Part was just WBA00000. Not sure what this means or if this is a possible problem. So I continued with the EWS.

Got the list of modules and went on to read the GM4 module. It came back fine and I saw it came back with GM4.C03. So now I also understand that part where it shows what C* file you have to pick in NCS Dummy. I tested only with one module, so not to confuse different modules with wrong FSW_PSW.MAN files.

So I didn't rename anything (I did do a backup). Then I went into NCS Dummy and loaded E36 and the GM4.C03 file and then my tracefile from NCS Expert.

To not try to much at once, I only changed the 'alarm beep when locking/unlocking' that is locked in EU modules normally. I eported the files (at first I was in doubt which of the 2 exports to choose. Even with the manual in hand it was a bit confusing which one to pick). So I did just both. Then it's still unclear to me if I have to close NCS DUmmy before going back to NCS Expert, but since NCS Dummy empties the FSW_PSW.MAN file, it would only make sense to keep it running. Also not sure if you close NCS Expert before starting NCS DUmmy or that it doesn't matter. Ok so I went back to NCS Expert and followed everything step by step.

Once I got to the 'execute job' step, I clicked and of course I got an error. And this one is not listed in the couple of common errors that is in the manual. Error in CABD! Look at CABI.ERR and ERROR.LOG! COAPI-2060: coding faulty (general) C_GM4, C_C_AUFTRAG: BUSY Tried it once more and same error again. So I was like okay well lets just stop for now and ask here first. So I disconnected everything, locked the car and.*BEEP*.

So I unlocked and got the *BEEP BEEP*. Ok so it looks like the coding was succesfull after all, but on the other hand this is even more confusing. So I looked again and now it looks like the coding was succesfull, but when I now read the module again and load in in NCS Dummy, these changes that are made, do not show up. As if there are still NOT_ACTIVE, while they actually are.

- - - Updated - - - I had a second go, with different laptop, but identical install so shouldn't matter. I did the same exact steps. I did notice my other install is German, I used the German rectification program. I have no idea if this has any differences besides language. I doubt it matters but both my e36's are German market spec cars. Well to make a long story short. Read out the GM4 and now saw the changes I had made during the error session on the other laptop.

So far so good. I then set the one-touch closure for the rear windows and all-4 window switch, exported the.MAN file and coded the module again in NCS Expert. No errors at all. And tested the auto-up functions by plugging in the front switches that have the auto-up function. Now ofcourse for the big question.

I have seen a few questions similar to this also something about a FAT32 problem, whatever that is. Skate it wii iso torrent.

What two exports are you talking about? Do you mean the difference between 'Export FSW_PSW.MAN' and 'Export FSW/PSW Trace File'? Both export features write exactly the same file contents but 'Export FSW_PSW.MAN' immediately writes to the 'FSW_PSW.MAN' without further user interaction while 'Export FSW/PSW Trace File' opens a 'Save as' dialog and proposes a file name in the format of '--FSW_PSW.TRC' (for example 'E36-GM.C04-FSW_PSW.TRC'). The latter is handy for backup purposes. Read the 'FSW_PSW.TRC' trace file from the car, load it in NCS Dummy and use this feature to create a properly named backup of the trace file. If you don't use the latter very often and would prefer quicker access to 'Export FSW_PSW.MAN', select 'Enable Quick Export' from the button dropdown menu.

NCS Dummy does not know about NCS Expert and vice versa so it doesn't matter.
