If you're against generic edm, then look elsewhere to write negative shit, my guy. Skrill, despite his massive popularity, still manages to be the forefront of experimental and abrasive modern dance music. His music takes influence from idm, breakcore, glitch, noise, etc. And still manages to rock sound systems like no other. He's shown he isn't a one trick pony either, his discogeraphy is loaded to the brim with variety, including electro, tech house, breakbeat, trap, glitch hop, brostep, trance, etc. Him and the entire owsla label have just been breaking boundaries and wiping generic edm djs to dust. A lot of people don't know this, but true story behind Skrillex how he got famous is because once an extraterrestrial life from outer space tried to contact Earth and they sent their signals to the planet, sadly the signals hit Skrillex's basement antenna.

The kid, while hitting the puberty and being high on shrooms, heard the signal, called it dubstep and people started dancing to it. You have to be on shrooms too to like his style of 'music'. Also any wasted white trash girls will dance to it too. That's all you need these days to get famous in this biz. Believe my story, because you are reading this on the internet, so it must be true. Though is true that he is the guy who killed the dubstep scene with his agressive and more comercial 'bro-step' sound, he was good on it.

I mean, he was signed in Mau5trap. This is something to remember. The problem with Skrillex is that he is too mainstream and this just kills his originality because he needs to appeal his huge crowd.

When he started doing Trap I lost practically all the respect for his music, because though I like some Trap, his productions of this kind of music are SHIT. Lame and boring shit. Now he only does cheesy music with cheesy decadent producers like Diplo. The only good thing that Skrillex has today is Dog Blood, his Project with Alex Riddha (Boys Noize). The rest, lame music. I personally think this guy is a twat who has ruined Dubstep, no offense to any americans but stop calling dubstep your own. Skrillex didnt create it.

It come from Dub reggae (DUB) and UK garage (STEP or 2-STEP garage) I own the first credited dubstep records which were made in UK IN 2003, Big apple records by a set of lil' guys called SKREAM, BENGA and ARTWORK heard of em??? America never even heard of dubstep over 9 years ago so stop calling it your own.

Where these americans got the idea its their's makes me laugh. This guy here, fair dues has brought up a genre to the mainstream for all masses to hear and appeal to most ears (mainly americans lol) good on him. He should be credited with ruining Dubstep, rather then so called creating it. Should give him his own credited genre called 'SHITSTEP'. I'd rather listen to spice girls!! Also alot of people may have forgot this.

Componentone 2008 crack. Check out ARTFUL DODGER - REWIND, the break for the chorus part, what does that sound like? That tune was created in 1999 around the time UK GARAGE was evolving to create Dubstep:).

The track has seen wild, viral success online since its release and now it’s being recognized in the mainstream, as well.
